5 Habits to Adopt in 2022 For Better Skin

Follow our suggestions below to achieve a cleaner, brighter and healthier skin tone in 2022. New year, better skin.

You don't have to spend big bucks on new products or toil through multiple nightly routines to improve your skin. Making simple adjustments to your routine and daily habits can make a world of beauty different. Add five resolutions to your list to help start your 2022 skincare journey right.

Stick to the ''no-picking'' policy.

Squeezing the pimple pus is satisfying, but it won't help to give the skin a clear complexion. In fact, squeezing or touching a problem area of ??skin not only causes irritation, it can spread bacteria around it, leading to more breakouts. It's like playing a game of batting a ball, if you know what we mean.

Breaking out of the habit can be tricky, but with a little willpower, you can definitely do it. Try not to examine your skin in a magnifying mirror and always apply a pimple patch on the freckles when they appear so you won't be tempted to touch your face.

Apply sunscreen every day.

We may sound like a broken record, but sunscreen really is the most important product you can apply to your skin. First and foremost, it reduces the risk of developing skin cancer, plus prevents the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots. You may also find that your skin is smoother and better off if you wear sunscreen regularly.

We often receive questions about whether it's really necessary to wear SPF when it's not hot and sunny, and the fact that UV rays may not be as strong when it's cold or cloudy, any exposure (even through windows) can cause skin damage. When in doubt, it's always better to just wear sunscreen.

Clean - your makeup.

If you want clean skin, at a minimum, you should remove your makeup every night. Even when you're tired. If you're tired and forget to take your makeup off after a late night, keep a pack of cleansing wipes on your bedside table to make things easier.

Once you get the hang of it, it's time to step up your cleaning game. We recommend double cleaning - applying an oil cleanser followed by a water based cleanser - for a 360 degree approach. Oil cleansers help remove makeup, sebum, and SPF, and water-based cleansers tackle impurities like sweat and grime.

Exfoliate regularly (but not too much!).

If you desire smoother and more even skin, an exfoliator is the key. Use a physical or chemical exfoliator to clean pores and remove dead skin cells, prevent breakouts and blackheads and make skin look brighter. It also helps products like moisturizers to absorb better for better results.

Do not exaggerate. We recommend exfoliating one to three times per week (start at the bottom end and increase the frequency as needed). Anything more than that can irritate or throw off your skin's pH balance.

Get to know your skin.

Just because a product or regimen works for us, a friend or someone on Instagram, doesn't mean it's the best choice for you. It's important to keep your skin type, concerns, needs, and how your skin reacts to certain ingredients in mind when shopping for skin care and whenever you're having trouble on your skin journey.
