LED Therapy Mask for Skincare. Does It Work?

LED Therapy Mask for SKincare. Does it Work?

Lately, you might have been wondering what exactly is that colorful face mask you see whenever you scroll down the instagram feed of your favorite celebrity or your favorite beauty, skincare brand. Now that LED Therapy Mask has finally made its way to HappyBeauty, let’st start talking about LED skincare. And let me tell you, it’s easier than you imagined.

Some say it looks creepy, some say it seems too high-tech and complicated. So, what’s the deal?

What exactly is LED therapy?

Dr Dennis Gross, a New York based dermatologist, puts it this way, ''Think of the light as an ingredients''. Think of LED light as another ingredient for your skin care. LED is short for Light Emitting Diode and the different wavelengths of the LED light works in the level of skin cells. This stimulates the skin on a cell level for instance, stimulating collagen production. Rather than having instant dramatic difference on the skin, LED light therapy has long-term biological effect when topically used for a period of time.

Despite it being on the spotlight only recently, LED treatments have been around for over 30 years now! Fun fact, it were originally developed for astronomical purposes, to increase blood flow, tissue healing and repair for astronauts. Unlike other types of light therapy, LED does not contain ultraviolet rays, making it safe for regular use.

Quick and easy guide to LED therapy –

A. Basic information

LED (Light Emitting Diode Therapy) skincare : a skincare treatment using different wavelengthes of light (shown as different colors).

It was developed for astronomical purpose by NASA to help heal and repair astronauts.

B. Saftey matters

LED does not contain UV rays thus making it safe to be used topically for skincare.

LED does not normally cause burn on the skin.

* LED is not skin type or color restricted.

* However, if you are under specific skin care treatment or skin condition, consultation with your dermatologist for new product trials is highly advised.

C.  General instruction

LED masks usually have automatically set time per session. (15-20 minutes)

It is recommended to use it on bare face or a light layer of hydration so that the wavelengths can reach the cellular level of the skin.

It is usually recommended to be used 3 times a week.

D. Effects & results

* Different wavelengths of LED (different colors) target different skin concerns.

  • – RED Light (630-635nm): Improves fine lines / elasticity
  • – ORANGE Light (590-600nm): Brightens skin tone / complexion
  • – BLUE Light (465-470nm): Shrinks pores / soothing effect

Bring your aesthetician home, LED Therapy Mask

Happy Beauty have launched quite some time for the Eclair LED Therapy Mask and it got everyone excited.

So why did Happy Beauty decide to curate this specific LED mask?

  • – 67.5g of an ultralight mask, making it outstandingly light compared to other LED light masks out in the market.
  • – 96 LED lights distributed equally all over the mask.
  • – Reasonable price compared to other LED masks out there in the market.
  • – All 3 different colors included to target different skin concerns.
  • – Eye shield included for those with sensitive eyes.

Now with the better understanding of LED skincare and the product, here are some of the frequently asked questions about the product.

Q1. Why is it cheaper than other LED masks out there?

The quantity of LED does not decide the quality of the mask. When the wavelength band is being transferred to the skin, the more overlap wavelengths creates the more irritation occurs to the skin and the eyes. On the other hand, when there are too small numbers of LEDs, they can only reach a limited area of your skin and make the light therapy less efficient. Eclair LED Mask is made of 96 LEDs, an optimal amount that can maximize skin improvements. With this unique technology, we could cut some expenses and offer the product with high quality at a very reasonable price.

Q2. Can I use the LED mask with a sheet mask on?

We kindly advise you not to put on the LED mask with a sheet mask on. Even if you remove the sheet mask before using the LED mask, the product will create a layer above your skin and make it harder for the lights to penetrate deep into your skin. You can use the sheet mask after using the LED mask for 15 minutes.

Q3. Can I use this everyday?

It’s best to use it for 15 minutes every other day. After 15 minutes, it reaches the maximum amount of wavelength the skin can accept. Also, you can have a maximum effect when you use one light setting for about 4 weeks. This is a skin light therapy device, not a medical device so continuity is important. And the 4 light settings have various wavelength band so they all work on a different layer of the skin.

Q4. Is the UV protection plate included?

Eclair LED Therapy Mask does not emit any UV radiation, which is not in the spectrum of visible light so you don’t need to worry about UV protection when using the mask. Thus, no the UV protection place is not included in the box.
