How To Get Glowing Skin With Water-Based & Hydrogel Masks

If you are like us and are prone to dry, sensitive skin, to achieve glowing skin, you need to give your skin a moisture boost at least two to eight times per month.

You see - the skin is 64% water. So spending time in the sun, pollution in the air, simply not drinking enough water, eating the wrong foods or drinking too much caffeine can lead to drier skin. When your skin doesn’t get the hydration it needs, your skin gets thirsty, you lose the suppleness, the ‘glow’ and your skin will be vulnerable to wrinkles (the one thing we all don’t want!)

Quench thirsty skin by giving your skin a huge hydrating treat. In addition to water and hydrogel, the masks contain natural ingredients like clary sage, apricot oil, lily and nut butters - all known for their ability to retain water. If you are trying to slow down the signs of ageing, water-based and hydrogel masks should be your go-to skincare necessity.

Similar to water-based sheet masks, hydrogel masks are another Korean beauty trend that’s taking over the beauty world. Hydrogel or a ‘jelly mask’ acts as a second skin and seep potent nourishing, glow boosting ingredients into the skin.

They are applied in the same way as sheet masks too. The difference is that they’re made of a thicker, moisture rich, gel-like material that trigger the skin to lock in moisture. And because of this - the hydrogel masks suit more sensitive skin types and is an ideal face mask for dry skin. Or to use at times where our skin needs more care and attention like after long days in the sun and being out and about in the winter winds.

For a dose of uber hydration, always opt for hydrogel!

For even more hydration (because your skin can never have enough), here’s a tip: apply before you go to sleep. The skin is more porous at night, so it’ll give the mask more time to add elasticity, bounce and glow to the skin!
