Finding the right shade of foundation can be tricky and we sometimes go out looking like we applied too much sunscreen…. so here are some helpful ways to find the right shade and even the right kind of foundation for your skin type. No more looking like a geisha!
1. Look at your skin undertones.
This is the first step in finding what color will work best for you. Are you more of a pink undertone? Maybe more yellow? Take a good look are your skin in natural lighting and see what your undertone is, if you don’t already know this about your skin, this will probably change everything!
2. Apply samples to your jawline and then step out of the shop to see it under a different lighting.
Most stores and even online marketplaces offer samples of their foundations. Trying them on and then looking at it out in the natural light is a great idea. Swipe the samples on your jawline and then bring a mirror outside and see what most closely matches your true skin shade. This one will be best suited for you. Use samples according to your undertone - Cool (pink) or warm (yellow).
